Free Water Polo Clinics!

Tualatin Hills Water Polo Club is offering free clinics for youth interested in seeing what the sport has to offer! In these clinics kids will start to learn the skills it takes to become successful in one of the most exciting sports around!

Saturday 10/4: High School Freshmen & Sophomores
Girls 9:00 am - 10:30 am, Boys 10:30 am-12 pm
Saturday 10/25: 8th grade & Under (10-14 yrs.)
Girls 9:00 am - 10:30 am, Boys 10:30 am-12 pm

Clinics are held at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center

Players will learn about body position, passing & shooting, and other useful tips and tricks. Athletes will be required to pay a user fee at the Aquatic Center prior to the clinic.

LHS Water Polo Banquet is set for Thursday, November 6th.

This year's banquet will be at Ernestos Italian Restaurant, 8544 SW Apple Way, Portland OR 97225.

Pricing and time will be announced. This is a great way to finalize the water polo season, thanking the players, coaches and parents!

LHS Water Polo Fundraiser!

Please plan on coming to the annual LHS Water Polo Club fundraiser and informational meeting. Wednesday, September 3rd, from 6:30 - 8:00pm at Square Deal Wine Co.

Schedules, practice information and volunteer needs will be discussed. Square Deal also gives us 10% of wine sales proceeds.

Olympic Silver for Team USA

After Team USA men's exciting defeat of Serbia in the semi-finals, they missed the gold by 4 points in a disappointing loss to Hungary.

Still, Team USA has come from 9th place to win silver medals in both men and women's water polo at these Olympics. For the men's team, a medal for the first time in 20 years.

We are so proud of our team! Congratulations Team USA!

OLYMPICS FINALS

It's a silver medal for Team USA's women's team who missed the Gold by 1 point against The Netherlands! A very close game and surprising upset by the Dutch led them to the Gold. We are still very proud of our women's team and their Silver medal and I hope you all watch recordings of the games.

The men's team fights for the Gold against Serbia tomorrow night at 7:40 (which is actually the middle of the night here for us)... Team USA men have not been in medal contention since 1988. Good luck TEAM USA!!!!

Olympics Water Polo Update

Wow. What a couple days for Team USA!

The women's team solidly beat Russia 12-7 setting them up for the next semi-finals match against Australia on Tuesday!

The men's team, in a huge upset over gold-medal favorite Croatia, beat them 7-5. The Americans came to Beijing as long shots to return to the medal stand for the first time since 1988. One more win against Germany on Monday, and they will be in contention for a medal.

Olympics Water Polo Update

Congratulations to both men's and women's USA water polo teams in the preliminaries!
Team USA men beat China 8-4 and women beat China 12-11 in a close match.

Sorry for the delay in posting as I was on vacation. I will attach the drafts of both our Metro League Schedule and our Non-League games that Eliza sent via email and will work on refining the schedule to one combined PDF file that can be printed out before our season start.

MAC Home Game Announcement

We are so happy to announce that the MAC has agreed to give us Friday, October 26th for a home game! The JV games will start at 6:00pm and Varsity games will follow. We do not yet know our opponents, but that news will be announced as we get closer. Please invite your friends and family to this fun event. Let's repeat last year's exciting games!
