Thills Waterpolo Winter Session and ODP Signup

Hello Athletes and Parents,

Thills has made it simple to sign up for the winter session and it is much less expensive as well!

Many athletes will be doing a combination of swim team and Thills waterpolo.  A great option and flexible schedule.  You can go a maximum of 5 times per week or as little as 2 times per week.  The winter schedule is less strict and provides more flexibility!  The January tournaments are a blast.

Also, don't forget to sign up for ODP.  The tryout weekend is Pacific Northwest ODP TRYOUTS Boys and Girls, 12th Grade and Under.

Don't forget to get signed up for the Winter Water Polo Session!
Winter session information is now posted on our website at: www.thillswaterpolo.org. Practice begins on November 12th and continues through February 9th. Practices/programs are available for ALL ages and abilities.
Standardized Programs
For the winter session we have adopted the standardized practice schedule and price structure that was introduced during the spring and summer sessions.  Only one session choice is available per skill level.  We feel this will provide more flexibility for everyone. All groups have a single price unique to their program and all athletes are able to attend any or all of the practices available to their group.
Winter Session Pricing
We realize that during the winter session many of our athletes will be participating on their HS swim team and therefore will not be attending all practices available to their skill group.  As a result, the winter session price is lower than the spring or summer session price
Frequent User Pass
THPRD will be changing their method for charging clubs for pool usage in the fall of 2013.  Currently, the frequent user pass is used to provide revenue for the pool for club usage.  Beginning in the fall of 2013, all clubs will be charged directly for pool use and a frequent user pass will no longer be required for in district athletes.  (Out of district athletes will still be required to pay an out of district fee.)  With this change eminent, please do not purchase an annual pool pass for your athlete and instead opt for a three or six month pass.
Programs
Rookie practice will be held every Tuesday/Thursday from 5:00pm – 6:30pm and Friday from 6-8pm. The Rookie practice is an introduction to water polo for elementary and middle school agers who enjoy the water and can swim 25 yards without touching the bottom. Participants will learn individual skills and gain an appreciation for the game. The cost is $125.
Recruits will practice every Monday/Wednesday from 6:15-8:30, Tuesday/Thursday from 7:30pm – 9:00pm and Friday from 6-8pm. The Recruits practice is a beginner's competitive program designed for the athlete who seeks to make a higher level commitment to water polo. Practices will include a dryland component.  Athletes will enhance their individual skills and begin to develop basic team skills. The cost is $215.
Advanced/High School Athletes will practice every Monday/Wednesday from 7:00-10:00pm, Tuesday/Thursday from 7:30–10:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am-noon. They will build upon basic skill levels and will be introduced to advanced individual and team skill development. This program provides a higher level of conditioning and greater physical exertion requiring strong work ethics, mental toughness and the ability to perform under pressure and fatigue. The cost is $250.
Elite Athletes will practice Monday-Thursday from 7:00-10:00pm and Saturday from 9:00-noon.  Players at this level are designated by the Head Coach through a tryout process.  Advanced skills are required with a high level of commitment in terms of physical and mental effort, focus and time. The program’s focus is on heavy conditioning, game tactics and strategies with a high level of execution and performance. The athlete at this level has developed a high level of intuitive game sense, executing is innate, not reactionary. The goal is winning at the highest levels through hard team work and execution excellence.  The cost is $300.
**All athletes must be current/registered with USA Water Polo and have a valid THPRD Frequent User Pass. Out of district residents must also pay THPRD Assessment Fees.
