Pre-season updates

Water polo starts next week! Below is some updated information to start the season:

Practices
The first practice, Sunday August 12, will be at the MAC from 4-6. Meet at the athletic entrance at 3:50 - that is a door at the far (west) end of the front drop-off area. Coaches will meet athletes there and then start the practice with a team meeting. Athletes will need ID - school ID is fine.

The full season calendar is on the blog, at http://lincolnpolo.blogspot.com/  If you are viewing on a mobile device and don't see the calendar, scroll down and hit 'view web version.'

For pool practice, bring a suit, towel, and goggles.

For dryland practice, wear athletic shoes and apparel.

Team Apparel
The official team uniform is a suit and a T-shirt with the athlete's first name, last name, or nickname on the back. An apparel order form is linked to the right - please bring the form and payment to one of the first practices. Ladies suits can be tough to size - if you have questions other athletes can help, and Ros Elfick is working to get a fit kit. Apparel questions should go to Ros at rosalineelfick@hotmail.com

We offer other apparel as well, including ladies Ts, golf shirts, jackets, and new this year is a hooded sweatshirt. Don't forget gear for the cheering section!

Hood River Tournament
The team will wrap up the pre-season with a tournament at Hood River for the second year. This tournament is for all athletes. The tournament will run Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26th. The team will arrive Friday night to camp at the tournament campground - a local farm. Coaches and parent chaperones will camp with the team. We'll have more info on carpools, timing, and what to bring when the tournament is closer.

Parents - we'll share the tournament schedule when it is available - last year it was a lot of fun to watch. And if you can help drive athletes between camp and pool, or would like to chaperone, please email lhswaterpolo@gmail.com

And last we need volunteers to bring meals - either a dinner or breakfast for about 40 people. The club will reimburse food costs. Coach Tyler will bring a large camp stove. Please email if you can help!

High School Prep Camp
If you are new to water polo, or want a boost getting back in shape, the BSD (also known as West Metro or THills) prep camp starts tomorrow, and runs every evening this week out at the Walker Road aquatic center. Info is on the THills website: https://thillswaterpolo.org/e/bsd-hs-prep-camp

Team communication
I'll send an email each week once practice starts with details for the week, and post the emails on the blog.

We also send out game updates, pictures, and any last minute schedule changes on Twitter, @lhswaterpolo  If you don't use Twitter, you can text Follow lhswaterpolo to 40404 and the tweets will arrive as text messages.

You can also send questions to me, or to coaches cc'd above.
